FEP Effects

Description of FEP Effects

Volcanism in the vicinity of the GDF will not affect the GDF safety functions, but will have a major impact on the biosphere (agriculture, etc. due to effects on soils and aquifer), e.g. may result in depopulation and/or import of food from further afield, resulting in reduced doses. Below-ground effects associated with volcanism are covered under the Magmatism FEP (FEP 34).
