Description
Storage of either natural gas (for later consumption) or CO2 (for long-term sequestration to reduce contribution to global warming). Gas is stored in natural geological reservoirs (e.g. depleted fossil fuel reservoirs, salt domes, aquifers) and would only occur at depth.

FEP Effects
Description of FEP Effects
Exploratory drilling (see FEP 8). Perforation of the host rock. Changes in gradient through the host rock. Changes in geochemistry (highly reservoir-specific). Gas-water-rock interactions.
