Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context (Espoo Convention)
Sets out the obligations of parties to assess the environmental impact of certain activities at an early stage of planning and lays down general obligations of states to notify and consult each other on all major projects under consideration that are likely to have a significant adverse environmental impact across boundaries.
Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North-East Atlantic (OSPAR Convention) The mechanism by which 15 governments and the EU co-operate to prevent and eliminate pollution and protect the maritime area against the adverse effects of human activities so as to safeguard human health and to conserve marine ecosystems and, when practicable, restore marine areas which have been adversely affected.
