4. METHOD OF SOLUTION
In plotting cross sections, EPLOTR reads all sections of File 3 and divides them into five categories:
- total, elastic, capture, fission, and total inelastic;
- total inelastic, discrete levels, and continuum;
- (n,2n), (n,3n), (n,n' charged particle);
- (n, charged particle);
- nu(total and delayed), mu, and xi.
Each category is plotted separately. If a cross section is given for one or more reactions in any given category, all cross sections of that category are plotted on a single frame, spanning the energy range from 0.01 eV or the minimum threshold up to the maximum energy tabulated. More detailed plots can be obtained by using the zoom commands.
For CPLOTR, reactions are considered to be comparable if they have the same (ZA,MT) combination. The reactions compared will be plotted if they differ by a user-specified allowable difference.
