RISKIND estimates potential radiological consequences and health risks to individuals and the collective population from exposures associated with the transportation by either truck or rail and spent nuclear fuel.
RISKIND offers a user-friendly menu system for problem entry. Several models are included in RISKIND that have been tailored to calculate the exposure to individuals under various incident-free and accident conditions. The incident-free models assess exposures from both gamma-ray and neutron radiation and can account for different cask designs. The accident models include accidental release, atmospheric transport, and the environmental pathways of radionuclides from spent fuels.
