3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

The PCNUDAT program gives access to nuclear data extracted from several data bases. The data consists of five types:
           a) nuclear level information,
           b) decay gamma information,
           c) nuclear ground/metastable state properties,
           d) nuclear radiations,
           d) thermal neutron cross sections and resonance
              integrals.
The program allows users to enter information interactively in order to construct a retrieval. This information is supplied by the user by answering a series of questions. When the program requires selecting from an option list, you need enter only the first character of the option name.
Helpful information is maintained on the screen at all times and only those parts of the screen affected by an action will be updated. User input is greatly simplified with menus provided where  possible.
The levels, gammas and radiations database files only contain data from A=40 to A=50. They are for test purposes only.

PCNULIB libraries have been updated on Aug. 19, 2002 and correspond to the archival ENSDF data.

11. MACHINE REQUIREMENTS

PCNuDat is now an extended DOS 32 bit program. As such, to operate under DOS the file DOSXMSF.EXE must be  in the working directory or the PATH. Because the wide tables are displayed graphically, only full screen displays under windows can be used reliably. A windowed display may fail or ask the user to switch to full screen depending on the capabilities of the users graphic card.
