Occupational Exposures at Nuclear Power Plants - Ninth Annual Report of the ISOE Programme, 1999
The ISOE Programme was created by the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency in 1992 to promote and co-ordinate international co-operative undertakings in the area of worker protection at nuclear power plants. The programe provides experts in occupational radiation protection with a forum for communication and exchange of experience. The ISOE databases enable the analysis of occupational exposure from the 429 commercial nuclear power plants participating in the programme (representing some 90% of the world's total operating commercial reactors).
Complete document in English (pdf 210 kb)
Foreword & Executive Summary (pdf 25 kb) (also available in French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Russian & Spanish).
Sections 1 & 2: Status of Participation in the Information System on Occupational Exposure; The Evolution of Collective Dose in ISOE Member Countries (pdf 150 kb).
Sections 3 & Annexes: The ISOE Programme of Work; List of ISOE Publications; ISOE Participation as of December 1999; ISOE Bureau and Contact Information (pdf 63 kb).

Information regarding forthcoming workshops and seminars may be found at www.oecd-nea.org/nsd/workshops/.
The
month of October was a very active one in the area of radiation protection.
The NEA was an observer in one of the ICRP's main committees, and meetings were
held of the Bureau of the Committee on Radiation Protection and Public Health
(CRPPH) and the Liaison Committee (LC) on Decommissioning. For more information
see: www.oecd-nea.org/11-00-rp.html/.
A seminar on Fission Gas Behaviour in Water Reactor Fuels was held on 23-26 September 2000 at Cadarache, France. It was organised by the Commissariat à l'énergie atomique (CEA), Électricité de France (EdF), Framatome and Cogéma under the aegis of the OECD/NEA and the IAEA. For more information see: 11-00-ns.html/.
A workshop on Nuclear Production of Hydrogen was held at OECD headquarters in Paris, France on 2-3 October 2000. The meeting included 39 participants from 9 countries and 3 international organisations. For more information see: www.oecd-nea.org/science/hydro/.
An Expert Group on Pyrochemical Separations met at NEA headquarters on 30-31 October 2000. This was the first meeting of the group, whose objective is to write a state-of-the-art report by the end of 2002. The meeting was devoted to general presentations of pyrochemical activities in different countries and to the assignment of drafting responsibilities for the final report. The next meeting of the group is scheduled for mid-May 2001.
The next meeting of the Joint Evaluated Fission and Fusion (JEFF) Project Working Parties will take place at NEA headquarters on 4-6 December 2000. The Working Parties will discuss nuclear data evaluation, processing and benchmarking. Information on the project and details of the meeting schedule are available at www.oecd-nea.org/dbdata.
Dates and topics
of forthcoming training courses can be found at www.oecd-nea.org/databank/training-courses/.
