4. METHOD OF SOLUTION
The dynamics are governed by the two-
dimensional, time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations together with
the species transport equations and the mass-action rate equations
for the chemical reactions. The mass and momentum equations for
the mixture are solved implicitly by the Implicit Continuous-fluid
Eulerian (ICE) technique. The equations for total energy and
species transport are solved explicitly while the chemical rate
equations are solved implicitly with a time-step that may be a
submultiple of the hydrodynamic time-step.
