The motivations for the SCCRED methodology are:

• Availability of Experimental Data might not be enough because:

  • Information is spread on several reports;

  • There is a different quality level and format of the documentation;

  • There is the need to explain and clarify the information;

  • Contradictions that may exist need to be clarified;

• Preserving the Experimental Data shall be a MUST

  • Qualified experimental database is envisaged by IAEA (SRS 23);

• All the performed activities in the several technological areas generally require the use of codes, the managing of a large number of data, involvement of expert users, issue of appropriate documentation

• Needs for a methodology to assure the V&V of Code and Evaluation Models

  • Methodology is necessary for the definition of systematic quantitative requirements;

• Uncertainty Analysis shall be conducted and uncertainty shall be the outcome of the V&V

The SCCRED Methodology covers and includes:

• Organization of the Experimental Database;

• Organization of the Code Simulation Database;

• Qualification Process of Evaluation Model;

• Uncertainty Quantification;

• Support to V&V of BEPU;
