3. NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED

TURBPLANT is a one-dimensional steady-state model of a high-pressure steam turbine, a low-pressure  steam turbine, a moisture separator, a reheater, a condensor, feedwater heaters and feedwater pump for a nuclear power plant.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

The energy equation and the mass equation are applied to every nozzle row and blade row in the turbine and iterated until convergency. The same equations are applied to the feedwater heaters and reheaters.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

Max 36 turbine stages.
Max 10 feedwater heaters.
Max  2 reheaters.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME:  Running time for sample problem is 110 secs.
NEA-0581/01
NEA-DB ran the two test cases on IBM 3081K. 5.44 CPU seconds were required for test case 1; 4.43 CPU seconds were required for test case 2.
