3. NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED

EREBUS (Evaluation of Reactor Evolution with Burn-up and Searches) is a multigroup diffusion depletion code in two dimensions, with criticality searches. Some outstanding features are: more sets of cross-section libraries and self shielding factors, 3 types of criticality searches, possibility of changing sets of data at prefixed time-steps, 2 types of restart of interrupted problems, arbitrary isotopic chains, automatic fuel shuffling.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

The mathematical model employed for the solution of the finite difference equations, derived from a five-points discretization of diffusion equations, is the one-line Chebyshev semi-iterative method.
