3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

Neutron and proton radiative capture differential and integrated cross sections and angular distribution coefficients are determined as a function of the projectile energy in the region of the giant multipole resonances. Besides the isovector dipole resonance, isovector and isoscalar quadrupole resonances can be included in the calculation.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

Radial Schroedinger equations are solved using  the Merson method, matrix elements are integrated using the Simpson  rule.

IAEA1350/01
Approximately half an hour on the VAX-4200 for a
problem involving a couple of final states. Five seconds for the sample case included in the package.

The NEA Data Bank installed and ran the program on (1)  DEC VAX 4000; (2) DEc Alpha Station 200-4/166; (3) DELL OptiPlex GXi PC with a Pentium 166MHZ processor and 32 MB of RAM. - Less than 500k of disk space are required.

The MS-DOS user will be asked for file names for temporary files, which the program uses and which can be deleted after the program has finished. The UNIX user will have to delete the temporary files (fort.*) created by the program to run it again.
