3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

TRIPOS is a versatile Monte Carlo ion transport analysis code. It has been applied to the treatment of both surface and bulk radiation effects. The media considered is composed of multilayer polyatomic materials.

4. METHODS

TRIPOS couples the power-law cross sections and universal potentials together to treat the atomic collision process. This coupling is made possible by the development of the Blanchard-Ghoniem-Chou integration scheme for the atomic scattering integral.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM:  Graphics routines have been disabled in the RSICC source.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

On a Cray X-MP, the sputtering problem took about 0.3 seconds of cpu time; the ion implantation problem took about 1287 seconds; the surface modification and evolution problem took about 30 seconds.
