Summary notes from SG-B portion of side meeting =============================================== Sept 15, 2016 Brugge, Belgium ND2016 side meeting This is the meeting notes from the SG-B meeting convened by David Brown. The notes are constructed from memory, so are likely incomplete. A harddrive failure prevented the preservation of the actual meeting notes and the talk presented at the meeting. Attendees: Don't know, lost with harddrive failure. But there were representatives from CENDL (L. Ping), JENDL (K. Tada), CSEWG (C. Mattoon, B. Beck, J. Conlin, D. Brown, M. Herman), NEA (O. Cabellos), CEA (C. Juanne, E. Dupont), and IRSN (W. Haeck). To everyone else whom I forgot, sorry! SG-B Goals & Deliverables ========================= * Approve and release the initial version: - Deliverable 1: Documentation of the initial version. * Provide a productive environment to modify and extend the recommended definition: - Deliverable 2: Collaborative platform and practices to maintain and discuss the recommended definition; - Deliverable 3: Organizing Workshops to train evaluators and other members, especially users, of the nuclear data community the new structure. * In close collaboration with the short-term subgroup on infrastructure, ensure that important and useful tools for using the new recommended definition are developed and maintained. * Release new versions with appropriate documentation as necessary, without overburdening stakeholders. * Emphasize that SGB is consensus driven and performed in collaboration/coordinated with SG38, SG43 Important deadlines =================== * Fall 2017 - ENDF/B-VIII.0 release in both ENDF6/GND formats - JEFF-4 to be released in both formats as well - Format must freeze for this release, then move to more deliberate release schedule * May 2017 - SG38 officially "closes", meaning there are no more SG38 meetings and we must focus on finishing final reports. Reports due "ASAP". "ASAP" is not really as urgent as the phrase implies - SG43 (API) officially kicks off - SGB (Governance) officially kicks off Status of SG38 ============== * Closing in May 2017, but more importantly ENDF/B-VIII will be released in both ENDF6 & GND formats. ENDF/B-VIII will be released in Fall 2017 and this is a DROP DEAD DEADLINE. Will we make it?
