NEA (2024), Digital I&C PSA – Comparative Application of Digital I&C Modelling Approaches for PSA, OECD Publishing, Paris
In June 2017, the NEA Committee on the Safety of Nuclear Installation (CSNI) approved the Working Group on Risk Assessment (WGRISK) activity Digital I&C PSA – Comparative application of Digital Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Modelling Approaches for Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA), as a step towards establishing internationally well agreed methods for digital I&C modelling in PSA. The objective of this study was to compare modelling approaches for digital I&C systems important to safety in an exemplary nuclear power plant for the purpose of PSA using a reference case. Six of the participating organisations developed their own PSA models based on the reference case. Through the modelling effort and comparison, various approaches and valuable insights for future modelling method development were identified.
