Programme

This training will consist of a series of lectures and exercises, carefully crafted to allow a novice user to master the basic operation of FLUKA and its powerful graphical user interface Flair.

No prior FLUKA knowledge is required, however a basic knowledge of Linux/Bash is preferrable.

Among the topics covered during the training are:

  • Use of the Flair graphical interface
  • Geometry
  • Scoring
  • EM and Hadronic interactions
  • Biasing
  • Activation
  • Neutronics

The detailed programme will be communicated at a later stage.

Registration

The registration fee amounts to 600 EUR. This includes lunch and coffee breaks, and does not cover accommodation.

Please fill in the registration form, that will be reviewed by the organising committee. As soon as your registration has been accepted, you will receive the necessary information to proceed with payment, either directly by credit card on the NEA website, or by bank transfer.

If we do not receive proof of your payment within three weeks of acceptation, your application will be voided to make space for someone on the waiting list.

Registrations will be open until places run out. We draw your attention to the fact this course can only host 20 participants, so please do not delay in registering and paying the course fee.

Practical Information

Participants are expected to come with their own computer. In addition, we ask you to check that you have the latest version of FLUKA and Flair installed on it. Shortly before the course, we will send you a verification script that will help you ensure that your machine is ready for the course.
