The Regulators' Forum (RF) is made up of regulators who participate in the work of the NEA Radioactive Waste Management Committee (RWMC) and the NEA Committee on Decommissioning of Nuclear Installations and Legacy Management (CDLM).
The NEA Regulators’ Forum convened for its 26th Plenary session in Paris, France, on 20-21 March 2023. The senior representatives from regulatory authorities who make up the Regulators’ Forum discussed recent regulatory activities and emerging opportunities for the group to further explore.
Some of objectives of the Regulators' Forum are to:
- facilitate multilateral communication and information exchange among RWMC and CDLM regulators;
- promote an open dialogue among peers and stakeholders;
- define and address future regulatory challenges in the area of waste management.
Co-Chair Mario Dionis, from National Inspectorate for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ISIN), Italy, and NEA Head of Radioactive Waste Management and Decommissioning, Rebecca Tadesse, delivered opening remarks at the meeting which also explored how to collaborate with other NEA working groups and international organisations on ensuring regulators’ competence.
