The Belgian Government is the depositary for the 1963 Brussels Supplementary Convention to the Paris Convention (BSC), amended by three Protocols successively adopted in 1964, 1982 and 2004. The 1963 Convention and the 1964 Additional Protocol entered into force on 4 December 1974. The 1982 Protocol entered into force on 1 August 1991. The 2004 Protocol entered into force on 1 January 2022.

* Austria and Luxembourg have signed the 1963 BSC as well as the 1964 Additional Protocol to amend the BSC and the 1982 Protocol to amend the BSC. Neither country has ratified any of these instruments.
** On 11 March 2009, Switzerland deposited its instrument of ratification of the 1963 BSC as amended by the 1964, 1982 and 2004 amending Protocols; however, this ratification was effective only with respect to the 1963 BSC as amended by all three Protocols. Therefore, entry into force for Switzerland of the Brussels Supplementary Convention as so amended only took place once the 2004 Protocol to amend the BSC itself entered into force, i.e. on 1 January 2022.
*** On 17 December 2021, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Sweden and the United Kingdom deposited their instruments of ratification, acceptance or approval in accordance with Article 21 of the BSC and requested that the deposit be registered on 1 January 2022.
