These proceedings cover a topical session that was held at the 36th meeting of the Radioactive Waste Management Committee (RWMC) in Paris, France on 13 March 2003. The topical session focussed on liability assessment and management for decommissioning of all types of nuclear installations, including decontamination of historic sites and waste management, as applicable. The presentations covered the current, national situations. Each oral presentation was followed by a brief period of Q&A for clarification. A plenary discussion took place on the ensemble of presentations and a rapporteur provided a report on points made and lessons learnt.
