The NEA is requesting data to update the first compilation of international data on gender in the nuclear sector, Gender Balance in the Nuclear Sector. The report update will help ensure the availability of data to support countries’ commitments to set and publicly issue short-term and long-term recommendations to improve gender balance.
In order to better understand the current situation of gender balance in the nuclear sector, including career trajectories, barriers and challenges faced, two surveys are being used:
- Representatives of nuclear-related organisations (including but not limited to both public and private institutions) are invited to submit responses for a quantitative survey of human resources data. Respondents must create an account on the NEA website before accessing the survey. Submit here
- Individuals (including both men and women) working in the nuclear sector are invited to submit responses to a public survey. This survey will take approximately 30 minutes. Submit here
Survey participation is entirely voluntary. Survey responses are confidential and published information will be aggregated to maintain confidentiality. Responses are due 30 April 2026.
Survey links are encouraged to be shared for as broad participation as possible across the nuclear sector.
Further detailed information, practical guidance and data protection provisions can be found on the survey web page.
These surveys have been developed by the NEA High-Level Group on Gender Balance. For any questions, please reach out to gender@oecd-nea.org
