Second Joint Workshop on Initiatives of Low Dose Research Co-ordination
Workshop information
This workshop on initiatives of low-dose research co-ordination co-organised by EPRI, its International Dose Effect Alliance (IDEA) network, and by the NEA, and its High-Level group on Low-Dose research (HLG-LDR), was part of the collaboration within both organisations in a series of workshops and webinars on low-dose research.

The International Dose Effect Alliance (IDEA) initiative was started in 2016 and, since then, provides the opportunity for low dose radiation research organisations and individuals around the world to meet to exchange information on programmes, priorities, and strategic research.

The HLG-LDR supports radiological protection policy, regulation, and implementation choices by improving the effectiveness and efficiency of research through global networking for the co-ordination of ongoing and future low-dose research projects.

As in previous workshops, the event included regional, national, and international low-dose research co-ordination initiatives from Europe, Asia, and North America. To this end, a Scientific Committee was convened to define goals and scientific scope, with the participation of ALLIANCE (Europe), COHERE (Canada), DOE (US), EPA (US), EURADOS (Europe), John Hopkins (US), MELODI (Europe), PLANET (Japan).

The meeting was open and held in-person with remote participation also available. It allowed participants to share and gain knowledge about the current international research of low-dose effects and opportunities for co-operation.
