The mission of the Global Forum Rising Stars Programme is to reach within the nuclear field, adjacent disciplines and beyond to welcome female rising stars in science, technology, education and policy into the global nuclear community.
The inaugural Rising Stars workshop was attended by 40 Rising Stars from around the world and was hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), in Boston, United States, on 20-21 September 2023. The 2024 edition was hosted at the European Union Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Karlsruhe, Germany on 25-26 November 2024.
The third workshop will be held at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden from 10-12 December 2025. The programme will feature high-level speakers, panel discussions, mentoring sessions and the opportunity for participants to present their own research. A networking dinner will be hosted in KTH’s Reactor Hall, the site of Sweden’s first nuclear reactor and tours of the KTH research labs will be offered. The workshop will also celebrate the Nobel Prize Awards Ceremony taking place on 10 December, with the opportunity to hear from a Nobel Prize Winner and tour associated venues.
