| NEST ARTERD | The NEST ARTERD Project is implemented through Fellowships that include site visits, as well as practical exerices, theoretical seminars and participation in international conferences and workshops. The management committee of the NEST ARTERD Project will select Fellows that meet the following criteria:
The candidates are asked to submit an application to the ARTERD management committee consisting of a curriculum vitae, academic transcript and a selected research theme, outlining their motivation and relevancy of their current position to the theme. | NEST TCOFF-II | Internships Candidates: The NEST TCOFF-II project welcomes MSc and PhD candidates and Post-Docs Duration: From 3 to 12 months Objective: To develop expertise in the field of thermodynamics applied to materials science dedicated to severe accident applications Applications for 2025-26 Fellowships were open until 22 June 2025. Information on proposed Fellowships and how to apply can be found on the NEST TCOFF-II webpage. Thematic schools NEST TCOFF-II also organises thematic schools focusing on thermodynamic modelling aspects related to severe accidents. The NEST TCOFF-II International Winter School 2025 was held at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany from 15–19 December 2025, in combination with “30th International QUENCH Workshop (QWS)” simultaneously held on 16–18 December. NEST and the NEA HLG-SET, along with JRC, are co-organising the NextGen Nuclear Leaders Summer School, a week-long school on non-technical skills in July 2026. The school will offer lectures and interactive sessions on topics such as leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement, all of which are considered essential for future managers and leaders in the nuclear sector. It will teach participants to develop a holistic view on the issue of nuclear energy, with introductory sessions from experts in the fields of nuclear law, policy, social sciences and ethics.
The Generation IV International Forum (GIF), a working group, has been organising webinars since 2016. The Education and Training Working Group has been the primary organiser of these online events, which are free to access and categorised as the Education and Training Webinar Series. Starting in 2024, other GIF groups have also begun to host webinars, concentrating on dialogues with industry representatives, known as the GIF Talks with Industry series.
