DETECTOR   (TELES,CEREN) Photons detected by cylinrical lead-     
            glass Cerenkov detectors, preceded by thin plastic    
            scintillator charged-particle veto counters.          
           (TELES,MWPC,SCIN) 3He recoil particles detected using  
            a telescope consisting of a wire counter, a thin      
            plastic DE counter, and a NaI or thick plastic        
            stopping or E counter.                                
           Beam intensity and polarization monitored using in-    
            beam polarimeter placed upstream of target.           
CORRECTION Corrected for:                                         
           . computer and electronic dead time,                   
           . proportional counter inefficiency,                   
           . pulse pile-up in E-counters,                         
           . losses of 3He particles which underwent nuclear      
             reactions in NaI detectors.                          
ERR-ANALYS (ERR-S) Statistical uncertainty given.                 
           Total scale uncertainty 8.6% and includes              
            contributions from:                                   
            . efficiency of 3He detectors (2%),                   
            . efficiency of Cerenkov detectors (4%),              
            . solid angle definition (2%),                        
            . beam-current determination (3%),                    
            . target thickness (5%),                              
            . target non-uniformity (4%).
