3. DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM OR FUNCTION

LASIP3 processes  Version III
standard interface  data files  specified by  the Reactor  Physics
Committee on  Computer Code  Coordination (CCCC).   This processor
performs  two  distinct  tasks:  namely,  transforming  free-field
format, BCD data, into well-defined binary files and providing for
printing and punching data in the binary files.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

The LASIP3  code contains two  basic modules:
one (input) for converting free-field  format BCD data into binary
files, and  one (file-print)  for printing  the binary-file  data.
Standard routines  for file  management (SEEK)  and I/O  (REED and
RITE) are used.

7. UNUSUAL FEATURES OF THE PROGRAM

Instead   of   maintaining   two
versions of LASIP3 for long- and short-word computers, one version
containing coding for both systems is made available.  Unnecessary
coding  for a  specific system  is made  nonexecutable by  comment
cards.
