3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

GTM-1 was developed for the assessment of radionuclide transport by the ground-water through geologic formations whose properties can change along the pathway. The program was developed for specific use within Probabilistic System Assessment (PSA) Monte Carlo codes.

GTM-1 solves the transport equation by the finite differences method (Crank-Nicolson scheme).

The program GTM-1 was installed and executed at the NEA/DB on a DEC VAX 6000/510 under OpenVMS 6.1 . The source code was compiled using the DEC FORTRAN-77 compiler

14. OTHER PROGRAMMING OR OPERATING INFORMATION OR RESTRICTIONS

The code references the FUNCTION DERFC which computes the complementary error function in DOUBLE PRECISION and is not in the standard mathematical libraries. The code also references the UERTST subroutine which generates error messages and is called from ISML subroutines.

Altough function DERFC can be found in the ISML library (to be used if the user has it installed in his system), a subset of subroutines offering the same functionality and extracted from the SLATEC library is provided with this package.
