3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

A dynamic model of a BWR nuclear power plant including reactor, turbines, moisture separator, reheater, feedwater heaters and control systems. The plant model is  one-dimensional except for the nuclear part of the reactor which is  based on point kinetics (zero-dimensional).

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

The steady-state solution is obtained by integration applying small time steps until the nominal power is reached and the time derivatives have become zero. The dynamic solution is obtained by simple Euler integration.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

The design of the thermal part of the plant is very difficult to change.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

Steady-state solution 20 sec. Dynamic case 100 sec. for 20 sec. real time.
NEA-1044/02
NEA-DB ran the test cases included in this package on a DEC VAX 8810 computer. The steady state problem executed in 12 seconds; each of the dynamic problems executed in less than 107 seconds.
