3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

STRADE generates matrices of experimental designs based on the Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS) technique, that can be applied to any kind of sensitivity analysis or system identification problem involving a large number of input variables. The program has been developed for use in reactor safety  probabilistic analyses. The following options are included: quadratic or rectangular matrix, depending on whether the number of  experiments is equal or larger than the number of input variables; repetition or no repetition of the same level for different variables in the same experiment.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

The range of each variable is subdivided into a number of intervals ("strata") equal to the number of experiments. The probability of each variable falling within a stratum is constant. The strata are ordered into levels, and a matrix is generated in such a way that all possible levels of each variable are taken into account, each level appearing once in a matrix column.
