3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

FITOCO converts neutron spectrum and group cross secton data from a fine group structure to  a coarser group structure. The program uses a SAND-II type fine- group structure as input. The output from FITOCO can directly be applied as input for the spectrum unfolding code STAY'SL or similar  codes. FITOCO can also calculate the effective coarse group cross values with detector cover materials, e.g. B-10 or Cd.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

The lowest energy bound of the coarse group structure is fixed at 10**-10 MeV.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

A run with about 36 reactions requires 3.3 CPU seconds on a CDC CYBER 170 computer.
NEA-0894/01
The program was compiled by NEA-DB on an IBM 3090 computer. The sample case was executed in 0.15 seconds of CPU time.
