3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

DENZ is intented for the study  of the consequences of accidentally releasing large quantities of "heavy"-denser-than-air-chemically toxic or flammable gases to the atmosphere.
   The model divides atmospheric dispersion in four stages:
      - Formation of source cylinder
      - Slumping with very little entrainment of air
      - Entrainment of air
- Disappearance of all density driven effects. Growth of         "puff" determined only by ambient atmospheric turbulence.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

For flammable gases, the extension of DENZ to cover the consequences of igniting the cloud has not yet been developed.

NEA-DB executed the test cases included in this package on an IBM 3081 computer. The following CPU times were required: 30 seconds (case 1); 1 second (case 2).
