3. DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM OR FUNCTION

PLUMEX calculates external exposure caused by an effluent plume in the atmosphere containing photon-emitting radioactivity.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

Several methods of numerical integration of point attenuation kernels over the space concerned, are employed.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM:  Memory requirement 50 kbytes.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

NEA-DB executed the test case on IBM 3033 in  700 seconds.
NEA 0704/01: After minor syntax corrections the program was re- compiled using FORTRAN-77 compilers on VAX 6000-510 and IBM 3090 computers. The execution of the test case required 22 seconds on the VAX and 23 seconds on the IBM.
