1. NAME OR DESIGNATION OF PROGRAM:  PALLAS-2DCY - A code for direct integration of the transport equation in two-dimensional (r,z) geometry. This code is the revised version of the old PALLAS-2DCY code which was designed in 1973 for CDC 6600 and IBM 360.

3. DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM OR FUNCTION

PALLAS-2DCY solves the steady state Boltzmann transport equation in two-dimensional (r,z) geometry. Application is restricted to neutron or photon trans- port in a fixed-source problem.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

The method of direct integration of the trans-  port equation is used in which the equation is integrated along the  flight path of the particle in the direction of motion at each dis-  crete ordinate direction. Anisotropic scattering is treated pre- cisely using differential scattering cross sections. No iteration and convergence techniques are used for determination of flux.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

About 260 k words are required for the total core storage for (55 x 55) spatial and 28 fixed directional meshes.
