3. NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED:  To minimize the band-width of finite element problems.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

A surface is constructed from the x-y-coordinates of each node using its node number as z-value. This  surface consists of triangles. Nodes are renumbered in such a way as to minimize the surface area.

This program is applicable to 2-D problems. It is dimensioned for a maximum of 1000  elements.
