3. NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED

Stress analysis of complex structures in presence of creep, dimensional changes and thermal field. Plane stress, plane strain, generalized plane strain and axisymmetric problems can be solved. The material is assumed to be either isotropic or transversely isotropic. Any laws of material behaviour can easily be incorporated by the user (see subroutines WIGNER and CLAW).

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

Finite element method using triangular elements  with linear local fields. The equations for the displacements are solved by Choleski's method. An algorithm is incorporated to calculate automatically the successive time steps in a creep problem.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

Maximum number of elements is 700. Maximum number of nodal points is 400. The indexes  of two adjacent nodes are not permitted to differ by more than 19.
