3. NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED

Calculation of the ground level external gamma radiation dose from a radioactive gaseous effluent.
Height of the release, attenuation by the air and radioactive decay  are taken into account.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

The plume having Gaussian cross-wise and vertical distributions of activity is replaced by a set of line sources diverging from the stack top. The dose rate from a single line is obtained using QUAD (which is based on Simpson's rule) and the total dose rate obtained by the summing of the line dose rates to convergence.
