3. NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED

The two-dimensional neutron diffusion equation (x-y, r-z, or r-theta geometry is solved, either  in the inhomogeneous (source calculation) or the homogeneous form (Keff calculation or absorber adjustment). The boundary conditions specify each group current as a linear homogeneous function of the group fluxes (gamma matrix concept). For each material, the fission  matrix is assumed to by dyadic.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

Finite difference formulation (5 point scheme, mesh corner variant) is used.  Solution technique:  multiline SOR.
Eigenvalue estimate by neutron balance.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

Examples:
(1) 2 groups, 10 x 10 meshes, relative flux accuracy (iteration  error) 5 x 10**(-8), 14 fine mesh iterations: CPU time = 16 sec.
(2) 2 groups, 80 x 80 meshes, relative flux accuracy (iteration error) 5 x 10**(-7), 31 fine mesh iterations: CPU time = 1050 sec.

Multi-line relaxation with user specified block size, mesh subdivision capability, gamma matrices, one inner iteration per outer iteration.
