3. NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED:  Elastic analysis of piping system.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

The flexibility matrix A is first calculated, which is a 6 x 6 matrix known by the characteristics of the piping system. The free thermal expansion vector is then calculated at one  anchor. This vector should be zero. Therefore, the force vector F at the anchor is determined by the inverse flexibility matrix a**(-1),  and the free thermal expansion vector is determined by Fuchs's law.
