3. NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED

SQUID is a multigroup diffusion program in x-y and r-z geometry. The possibility to solve the diffusion equations with a constant neutron source independent of the fluxes, is investigated. The adjoint problem can also be solved. The program can perform the straight Keff calculation and three types of criticality searches - dilution factor search for a control isotope having a given distribution over the reactor, density search of a control isotope present in one reactor region or in a set of regions (control bank), boundary search for the control region or the control bank in which a control isotope is present with a given  density.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

The mathematical model employed for the solution of the finite difference equations is the one-line Chebyshev semi-iterative method.
