3. NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED

Production of ABBN type group constants up to 70 groups for fast reactor calculations, reading ENDF/B library as input.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

The multigroup method of Bondarenko et al. is used for processing basic nuclear data. Calculational algorithms for an unresolved resonance region are the same as those in the MC**2 code. For a resolved resonance region, an ultrafine energy structure dependent on a level scheme is adopted.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

Maximum number of

                     energy groups - 70
                     sigma0 values - 6
                     temperatures - 5
Self-shielding factors for an unrealisticly low value of sigma0 are not guaranteed because of the approximations used in the unresolved resonance region.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

The production of 25 group constants for FE from ENDF/B-III of infinite dilution and the table of self-shielding factors at 3 values of temperature and at 4 values of sigma0, takes  25 minutes on FACOM 230-60.

7. UNUSUAL FEATURES OF THE PROGRAM

The output from this program is given on a tape or disk in a binary form and is compiled to a library using the JARMEC-2 code (JAERI group constants managing code), which also makes input libraries for the JAERI fast reactor calculation codes such as EXPANDA-5.

8. RELATED AND AUXILIARY PROGRAMS

The program is an extension of the ETOA-1 code to the ENDF/B-II, ENDF/B-III and ENDF/B-IV formats with  several improvements on numerical techniques. The JARMEC-2 code is used for output processing (see item 7 above).
