3. NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED

The programme performs a fully automated translation from UKNDL into ENDF/B (version 1) format.
top ]
4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

Each reaction is cropped to reduce the number of redundant points; log-log interpolation scheme is adopted everywhere. Angular distributions are given in tabular form.
top ]
5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

The existing array size limitations which apply to both UKNDL and ENDF/B have been taken into account. Secondary energy distributions as formulated by  UKNDL are not considered; a simple evaporation spectrum is introduced everywhere for the (n,n') continuum and (n,2n) reactions.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME:  About 12' for a fissile DFN on the IBM 7094.
top ]
7. UNUSUAL FEATURES OF THE PROGRAM

Five significant figures are allowed for a real word in the translated format. Provided that a card containing Z,A is given in input for each DFN, a complete UKNDL tape may be translated in a single run. Automatic retrieval is provided for a single DFN translation.

8. RELATED AND AUXILIARY PROGRAMS

DICTON and CRECT could be used to modify the translated file in order to obtain a full correspondence  with the ENDF/B version II specifications. CHECKER should always be  used to test the resultant file.
