3. NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED

Neutron total and differential elastic and inelastic cross-section evaluation by means of the statistical model of Hauser-Feshbach (1) as modified by D. Goldman (2) (3). The Goldman modification includes the effect of spin-orbit coupling on transmission coefficients.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION: For numerical integration the Fox-Goodwins method is used.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

Angular momentum I less than or equal to 50.
Number of excited levels less than or equal to 30.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME: 2 min. for I max = 6 and six levels.

7. UNUSUAL FEATURES OF THE PROGRAM

Penetrabilities are directly evaluated solving the Schroedinger equation for spherical optical potential with spin orbit coupling.
