3. NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED

Calculation of fast neutron radiative capture cross  section of fission products.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

Based on the Hauser-Feshbach theory. Includes corrections for n-2gamma, direct, and collective capture but does not include width fluctuation corrections.
Transmission coefficients may be read from cards, or the program will calculate them from either a black-nucleus model or from an internal optical model-program which uses various forms for a spherically symmetric potential.
Includes the effect of inelastic scattering to both known and unknown levels in the target nucleus.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

  19 excited levels.
300 energy points.
  50 values of the l-th partial wave transmission coeff.
   9 maximum number of l (see above).

About 15 seconds for 37 energy points and 5 excited  levels on an 370/168.
