3. NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED

MUPO calculates the critical spectrum of a bare homogeneous reactor in 43 groups. This spectrum is used to evaluate condensed microscopic cross-sections.
An option for this programme is to read in the library data from cards and write the binary library tape -DRAGON LIBRARY 3-.

3 options. Introduction of an additional absorber to account for a control poison, source iteration technique, and a buckling iteration.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

1 minute on CDC 1604 A. 15 seconds for the test case execution and 2 minutes to generate library tape (7090).
Punched cards output is used as input for various nuclear programmes.
