3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

W-Shielder calculates shielding thickness of water for any photon emitting radionuclide between 0.5 to 10 MeV.

4. METHODS

W-Shielder assumes the radionuclide(s) as a point source and uses Taylor's notation for build up factor to calculate shielding thickness.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

- W-Shielder works in the photon energy range of 0.5 to 10 MeV.
- Suitable for radionuclides/sources of small dimensions.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

The running time of the W-Shielder program is 15 to 30 seconds, depending on the speed of computer and attenuation required.
