3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

EPICSHOW is part of the EPIC (Electron Photon Interaction Code) system. The program allows interactive viewing and comparison of data in the EPIC data bases. Plots and listings can be obtained. The EPIC electron, photon, and charged particle data bases are available with this package. The data bases include data for elements hydrogen (Z=1) to fermium (Z=100) over the energy range 10 eV to 1 GeV.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

The original tabular data of the libraries are  installed as binary random access files using standard FORTRAN, so they can be quickly accessed on the computer. EPICSHOW is completely mouse-driven; there is no keyboard input.

The program has been tested at the NEA Data Bank on a Workstation DEC 3000 Model 300X - Alpha AXP Architecture. The filesizes of the three binary random access libraries CHARGED.BIN ELECTRON.BIN, PHOTON.BIN and NEUTRON.BIN are 1 Mbyte, 2 Mbyte and 2.2  Mbyte, respectively.

The program has been installed at the NEA Data Bank under DEC OSF/1 V3.2. The FORTRAN source code files were compiled using the DEC Fortran (f77) V3.4-480 compiler. The X-Windows (X11) graphics system is used by this version of EPICSHOW, for the visualization and display of the data.
