3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

The code FIGA converts the source distribution (fission density) from x-y to r-theta geometry for subsequent use in transport codes such a DOT and TWODANT. The standard as well as the variable mesh feature as available in DOT-4  and DORT can be treated. The principal application is to the ex-core reactor transport calculations performed in r-theta geometry. Usually the fission densities in the core are calculated in x-y geometry, whereas for the ex-core region the use of the r-theta geometry is more appropriate. FIGA can be used to prepare the source term and to define the borders of the core region.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

In this particular version of the code 30000 words of main storage are used, which should be sufficient for usual cases. In case of an "insufficient memory" error message, increase the variable MEM and D dimensions in the main program.

NEA-DB ran the two test cases included in this package  on a VAX 8810 computer. Each case required 2.5 seconds of CPU time.

The code FIGA prepares the input source distribution for the codes DOT-3, DOT-4, and DORT. The source term is written in DOT card-image input format (17**). With minor modifications it can also be used for the code TWODANT.
