1. NAME OR DESIGNATION OF PROGRAM:  DOMUS.

3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

The automatic analysis of 2-dimensional amplitude spectra, measured by various types of detectors and under a large variety of conditions.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

Peak search - by using formal grammar methods connected with statistical checkings for surface pattern recognition;
Peak characteristic evaluation - using stable (damped) robust techniques of fitting surfaces by generalized approximators of the type Qn(x)m(Pk(x)), where Q and P are 2-dimensional polynomials and  m(z) is a rough 2-dimensional peak model.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

Not more than 12 peaks per spectrum interval, into which the analyzed spectrum is divided.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME:  CPU-time: For sample problem run on ES 1061 is 33 sec.

The test case of DOMUS was executed by NEA-DB on an IBM PC/AT compatible computer in about 5 minutes.

11. MACHINE REQUIREMENTS:  The program requires 192K core storage.

Main storage requirements on an IBM PC/AT are about 102 kBytes for FIND2; and 139 kbytes for DOMUS.

13. OPERATING SYSTEM UNDER WHICH PROGRAM IS EXECUTED:  OS-ES V6.1(MVT) and V7.1(SVS).

The program ran under MSDOS version 3.21. The compiler  RM/FORTRAN version 2.42 was used.
