3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

The analysis of arbritary apparatus spectra, measured by various types of detectors and under  a large variety of conditions.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

Component characteristic evaluation - using stable (damped) robust techniques of fitting curves under constraints by generalized approximators of the type Qn(x)m(Pk(x)),  where Q and P are polynomials and m(z) is a rough component model -
its contour.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

Not more than 20 components per spectrum interval, into which the analyzed spectrum is divided.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME:  CPU-time: For sample run on ES 1061 is 13 sec.
