UNGER is a data set of gamma-ray fluence-to-effective dose factors and specific dose constants for nuclides important  to  dosimetry  and  radiological assessments.
The data are used to assess the radiological hazard of the various radionuclides from the unshielded dose rate at 1 meter (the  specific dose constant).

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

The fluence-to-dose factors of ANS-6.1.1 are applied to the gamma- ray intensity for each energy of each nuclide  of the Kocher compilation (DLC-80) and summed to give the total anterior-posterior (AP) factors and specific dose constants. Gamma rays of less than 10 KeV were neglected. The results are compared to the results of the 1982 publication.

The program was run at the NEA-DB on a PC DELL-466/L (80486 processor, 66 MHz, 16 Mbytes RAM). The generation of the two  output data files took 3.7 seconds of elapsed time.

8. RELATED AND AUXILIARY PROGRAMS

ZZ-UNGER is an update to ORNL/RSIC-45/R1 (1982) based on DLC-80/DRALIST radioactive decay spectra and ANSI/ANS-6.1.1--1991 fluence-to-dose factors. ORNL/RSIC-45/R1 was based on the fluence-to-dose factors of ANSI/ANS-6.1.1--1977.
There is no retrieval program. However, the program for calculating  the dose factors and specific dose constants, implemented on a PC using the Microsoft 5.0 compiler, is included.

The program UNGER was run at the NEA-DB on a PC DELL 466/L (processor 80486, 66 MHz, 16 Mbytes RAM). The file size of the executable is 68 Kbytes. The size of the input data library DRALIST.DAT is 350 Kbytes, and sizes of the two output files with the fluence-to-dose and the effective dose equivalent conversion factors are 76 and 43 Kbytes, respectively.
