3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

MAGIK calculates the time-independent photon dose rates that result from activities produced by nucleon-nucleus and meson-nucleus collisions over a
a wide range of energies. The system has been used both for high-energy accelerator studies and for fusion reactor studies.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

The lengthy photon transport calculations are carried out independent of time, an the time dependence is introduced in the final program, thereby permitting study of various operating scenarios with a minimum computing cost.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

BOOKIE ran in 6 seconds on the IBM 360/91.
MORSE ran in 1.9 minutes in the IBM 3033.
DERBI ran in 0.3 seconds in the IBM 3033.

MAGIK is operable in the IBM 360/370/3033 computers. It requires 600 K storage and uses standard I/O , punch,  and 5 storage media.
